Education Positive is an educational consulting firm that is owned and operated by Dr. Carole B. Ricotta. Dr. Ricotta has a long and illustrious career as an educator that spans more that forty years. During that time, Dr. Ricotta has been an elementary school teacher, principal, Executive Director of Elementary Education in Colorado, and a Superintendent in Grants Pass, Oregon. She has also been a Director of Academic Affairs and Adjunct Professor at the University of Phoenix. Education Positive is the culmination of all of Dr. Ricotta’s experiences and her desire and willingness to continue to share with educators and students. |
Also included among Dr. Ricotta’s more recent experiences is the Ricotta Opportunity Center (ROC), which was developed in collaboration with Samuel C. Harrell of Urban Education Solutions (then known as “NetAXS Solutions”). The ROC Center was the centerpiece of a Supplemental Education Services (SES) program that was approved by the State of Colorado and deployed in Colorado Springs in partnership with the Urban League of the Pikes Peak Region (ULPPR) in 2003. The ROC center and versions thereof ran successfully in the two largest school districts in Colorado, Colorado Springs District 11, and Denver Public School 1 through 2006, under the direction of ULPPR.
Today, as a member of the board of advisers of Urban Education Solutions and a member of the board of directors of the National Bricks-n-Books Project, Dr. Ricotta (Education Positive) continues to support Mr. Harrell’s initiatives to develop and deploy educational programs for urban communities.
