Occupational Skills Trng

Originaly born out of the Ricotta Opportunity Center  ueSolutions also offers an occupational skills development program model, which operates as an alternative secondary education job-readiness training program.  This program is designed to serve eligible at-risk youth of all ages, working toward their General Education Development (GED) credential, while also receiving training in a high-demand career field. With a strong emphasis on leadership development, including community service. This program can also addresses the need for soft-skill and life skill instruction, as well as entrepreneurship.

This program was originally deployed as the name the Bricks-n-Books Project (BnB). Having never been tried and tested before, the Bricks-n-Books Project was introduced in the U.S. Virgin Islands in December 2009 as a pilot program to determine its capability to deliver on its stated objectives. The deployment process was to take place over a three-phases, which could take upwards to three years to complete. Phase 1 was the Program Setup, which was to establish a presence in the targeted community and included forming collaborative partnerships with existing organizations providing similar services, and identifying and securing grant and other funding. Phase 1 was to last six months. Phase 2 was defined as the Startup / Implementation phase, and represented the successful completion of Phase 1, which would be marked by the securing of Additonal funding that would support the enrollment of program participants. Phase 3, was identified as the Life Cycle phase and represented a fully functional program.

Now domiciled in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Bricks-n-Books Project is the result of an eight year development effort by Sam Harrell and Associates (ueSolutions LLC).
